What You Need To Do

Once the answer sheet has been completed and all student responses checked, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the Marker Answer Sheet has been filled in correctly.
  2. Check that the students have filled in the forms completely and correctly. Importantly, each answer sheet must have a valid student number filled in, to ensure timely processing of the exam.
  3. Complete the Multiple Choice Exam - Marking and Analysis Request form.
  4. Deliver the exams in person, to either:
    • Integrated Help Services, located in room V207 (V Block, level 2) at Gardens Point campus; or
    • the IT Helpdesk on your campus, if you are situated at Kelvin Grove or Carseldine campuses.

Only the red MCQ Answer Sheets should be delivered - the full exam papers are not required.

Note:  For security reasons these exams should not be sent via internal mail.

There is a maximum turnaround time of three (3) working days for the scanning process. However, this may take slightly longer during peak times, or if you are submitting and/or collecting your exams at a campus other than Gardens Point.

Important:  The original student response sheets must be collected as soon as possible by the lecturer or nominated staff member, as all ambiguous answers should be manually checked to determine final results. The lecturer or nominee must present a current Staff ID Card upon collection - results will not be mailed. This also applies if an electronic copy of the results have been requested by the lecturer.

Please refer to the following sections of the MOPP:

Final Check

Check that you have done the following:

  • checked the Marker sheet is filled in correctly
  • student details are written and corresponding dots filled in
  • answers correctly indicated
  • all erasures/corrections clean (note answers crossed out will be ambiguous and given '0' marks)
  • all sheets are sorted printed side up with QUT logo at the top and the timing marks at the bottom
  • the Multiple Choice Test Marking and Analysis Request Form completed before or upon delivery of exam.

Collection of Exams

It is important to collect your exam batch and reports once they have been processed.  Ambiguous answers should be manually checked.

Under our policy and procedures we do not return exam batches via internal mail.  They should be collected and stored by you until sufficient time has elapsed when they can be disposed of, in accordance with the following sections of the MOPP:

  • E/6.6 - Access to assessment results
  • E/9/1 - Review of grades and academic rulings
  • Appendix 1(c) - Student Rules

If you are unable to collect the exam yourself you can nominate another staff member to do so on your behalf, by supplying this information on the Marking & Analysis Request Form. Alternatively, if you decide to nominate another staff member to collect your exams after you have submitted them for marking, please contact the Exam Scanning office to make arrangements. A current Staff ID card must also be presented by the nominated staff member collecting the exams on your behalf.
