How do I submit my assignments? How do I apply for an extension?

Assignment submission

Assignment submission sheets are available on your Unit web page on the OLT site, Blackboard, or via the Assignment Minder site.
All assignments and work submitted for marking must have the correctly completed Assignment Submission Sheet securely attached to the front. Unless otherwise specified by your lecturer, please submit your work on A4 sheets, stapled together.

For assignments being posted please address to

    External Studies Support Co-ordinator, QUT
    Room R210
    Victoria Park Road
    Kelvin Grove, Qld, 4059

For assignments being delivered by hand between 8am and 4pm, students can give assignments to the Assignment Minder staff located in R210. Outside these hours there is an Assignment Box located outside the foyer on level 2 of D Block, 152 Victoria Park Road, QUT Kelvin Grove Campus. Assignments should not be addressed directly to a lecturer. Assignment that are addressed simply to QUT may incur unnecessary delays in being processed. You should keep a copy of all assignments or worksheets submitted, just in case the original goes astray in the post.

Assignment extensions

You can request an extension of time for the submission of your assignments. Your request should be made in writing using the appropriate form, a copy of which will be included in the first mailing of your study materials. Completed forms should be forwarded to the External Studies Co-ordinator. You must use a separate form for each individual request. Naturally, requests for extensions should be sent before the due date and a copy of any applicable documentary evidence (e.g. doctor’s certificate) should be attached if possible.

Examinations

Examinations for external units are held in many places in Australia and overseas and, in general, you should not have to travel more than 100 kilometres to an examination centre. Information concerning examinations is forwarded to you by the Examinations Officer.

Semester Results

Semester results will not be posted to students. They are also available online through your student profile in QUT Virtual. Current enrolment and academic history may also be checked by using QUT Virtual. Information about the release of semester results can be obtained through the examinations section of the QUT web site.
