Where do I find the new form?

  • The form has replaced the old form on the Assignment Minder website therefore it can be found online where the previous form was, namely: https://www.am.qut.edu.au/staff/unitInfo.php
  • After logging in, the first page will provide information about what details are required to complete the form. Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen to begin.

Step 1: Unit Code

  • Type in the unit code for the subject you wish to add an assessment piece/s for and click the Continue button to move to the next page.

Step 2: Assessment Items

  • The following page asks for information about the assessment piece/s for the subject. A description of the assessment piece (eg. ‘Essay 1’, ‘Take Home Exam’ or ‘Literature Review’) is entered in the Description field. The Due Date can either be typed in or chosen on a calendar by clicking the mini calendar beside the field.
  • You can choose to have the assignments delivered or picked up by the markers from the Assignment Minder desk by choosing the corresponding radio buttons in the Instructions field. The Requests field below allows for any requests or specific instructions to be entered (eg. Sort by tutor; deliver to the school office; Marker X will pick up assignments deliver all others. etc.)
  • Click on the Add Assessment Item button. The page will refresh with the details now showing in a table below the form. You can then add all other assessment items for the semester in the same way. Once all assessment items are listed in the table at the bottom of the screen, click on the Continue button (located below the table).

Step 3: Markers

  • The next step is to add any markers associated with the subject.
  • If the marker is already in the Assignment Minder system, the quickest way to select them is via the Pick List on the left. Type in their Last name and click the Search button. If it is a common surname, you may have a few choices appear in the search results. Select the desired marker and then click on the Add Staff button
  • Once the Add Staff button is clicked, the marker’s name will appear in a table at the bottom of the screen. Continue to add all other markers associated with the unit. Once all markers are nominated, click the Continue at the bottom of the screen.

    Please note: A new allowance in the Assignment Minder system is that you can add markers who are not current QUT staff members. If a non-QUT person is elected as a marker, we may contact you in the future to verify further details on the marker (such as phone contacts).

Step 4: Associate Markers with Assessment Items

    The final step is to indicate which markers will be associated with each assessment item.
  • This is done by way of a table which shows all nominated markers as a row and each assessment item as a column in the table. The leftmost column will list the marker’s name. A small tick box will appear in each cell of the remaining columns.
  • For each marker tick all the assessment pieces in their row which they will be responsible for marking. If a marker will not be allocated any assignments for a particular assessment item, leave the tick-box in that assessment item column empty.
  • If all markers will be marking all assessment items, there is a Check All button at the bottom of the table to speed up the process of this step
  • Once this step is completed, click the Submit button.
  • If you have done the above correctly, then you will have successfully submitted details for all your assessment items for the semester.
